Over the past week or so, our class, along with Biology, Honors Biology, and AP Biology, participated in a contest known as the Junior Breakthrough Challenge (BTC). BTC is a competition that allows students between the ages of 13-18 to demonstrate their knowledge of a topic under the subjects of math, life science, or physical science.
For my video, I covered how overpopulation is connected to the impacts of urbanization and genetic mutations. I chose this topic because, well, for one, I had already intended on doing a video that featured genetic mutations, but I was not entirely sure how exactly what I was going to connect this subject to. Luckily, our class had just finished a unit on human population, which inspired me to make a connection between genetics and human population impacts.
